borntodeal Posted May 27, 2019 Share #1 Posted May 27, 2019 Friend, can you tell me the approximate year, rank/rating of this uniformed person? Thank you so much. 2-3/8" x 3-1/2" "Henry Swope, Kentucky, U.S.A."
Steve B. Posted May 28, 2019 Share #2 Posted May 28, 2019 Hat and lapel insignia indicate he is an infantry officer. It’s hard to see, but it looks like he has a single bar on each shoulder which would indicate he is a lietenant. Without colored photos, it is next to impossible to tell if he is a 1st Lieutenant or 2nd Lieutenant. At any rate, he is an infantry officer, most likely a Lieutenant. MattS Posted May 28, 2019 Share #3 Posted May 28, 2019 Late 1930s-1941ish I'd guess. See post #1 here: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/231999-1941-life-magazine-color-photos-of-us-military-uniforms/ For reference:
Salvage Sailor Posted May 28, 2019 Share #4 Posted May 28, 2019 I'd say pre-war 1938 to 1941
