I too really like the way you have the names and photos done. I had been trying to come up with a way to do that for displaying with my named knives. Awesome collection too!

Great looking collection! I like how things are displayed and labeled .

I see that you appear to be a War Between the States reenactor. The best of both worlds related to militaria.

A few brief updates as summer comes to a close. I have mostly worked on my table display, adding a third mannequin and a variety of small items to fill out the table. With all three main branches now represented, one side vaguely represents the Army/ETO while the other the Navy/Marines/PTO.

I have also added an original 48 star flag to display more fittingly, it once flew over the Louisville Main Library during the war.

Absolute fantastic collection & display! May I ask how old you are?

Thanks a lot! I have really come to love the hobby. I am currently enjoying college life. One of the thing my parents appreciate about collecting is that they know all my money goes there instead of drugs and booze!

Great collection. Can't tell if the M1 Garand is legit or not, it probably is, but it looks amazing in any case!!

Thanks! And yes, it is a Dec 43-Jan 44 production. The rifle is a Springfield make but the stock and bolt were replaced after the war, the bolt is a Winchester.

From time to time the mannequin gets to hold it as well

Well I have updated the room once again. The most notable addition is a great new clothes rack I would highly recommend. It’s from Ikea and called the TURBO. It is very light but very well made and extremely solid. It holds all of those uniforms up extremely easily. Highly suggest for anyone looking to get one.

I tried to make a more open concept for this one. Not sure how much I like the main table display Atm but it is there for now.

What a coincidence I was at Ikea yesterday and was looking at getting a Turbo for storing extra uniforms. Glad to hear its great for this use because I really the solid look that it has to it. You have a great war room going.

I would definitely pick one up. I was not totally convinced at first but I put some weight on it in the store and it held up pretty well. It does great with the uniforms and as you can see I have a pretty good amount on there right now. Thanks for the comment, let me know how yours looks if you end up grabbing it!

Hey everyone. Halfway through the summer and many months of quarantine through has given me plenty of time to reorganize or change around some displays. Thought I would show off some of the changes.

First ive developed several types of table displays theming around the Air Corps, the Battle of the Bulge, and the 36th division. I tried to make the table a sort of main point for the room as it is the farthest from the door and at the end of the walk through the room.

I’ve also added a lot of wall decorations to go along with the various displays I have up at any given time. The flags have been redone as well and a massive new one has been added behind the bed

The corner has also changed and now houses my main air corps display, as my focus has now been returned to the infantry divisions of the ETO.

Currently the U Shape stretching from the footlocker to the entertainment center display is all themed around the 36th ID

The rack slowly dips. Will probably need to do something about that at some point.

Alex,

Nice display, and use of space. Like me, do you have more, you have not displayed. Also, the 38 star flag is a nice touch. You don't see them too often.

A bit of an update today with my first apartment display

It’s been a month and a half since I moved into my first off-campus apartment for school. I brought a few things with me but had several larger purchases in line which all seemed to come in after I had already moved in. Regardless, very glad to have a roommate who has no desire for interior decorating and pretty much let me do what I want.
