GMPETE Posted May 23, 2019 Share #1 Posted May 23, 2019 I was going through the 1 April 1945 Pacific Edition of Leatherneck Magazine and found this feature. I know this man is identified elsewhere on the web in association with 'Little Gem' but believe his name may be misspelled as 'Randall'. Either way, this article associates him with 'Our Baby', 'Joker's Wild', and 'Coral Queen' as well. U.S. Marine Pfc. Ransdell W. Sprenger of Louisville, Kentucky ran Ad-Craft Advertising Studios before the war, and applied his skills to quite a few B-29 noses. The article does not say where no doubt for security reasons but I imagine it was on Saipan and/or Tinian. Thought it would be nice to be able to credit him for his work if not already known.
