Vietnam display at Museum/Coffee Shop

Recommended Posts

Agreed, surprising how many youngsters do not know what an AH1G Cobra is, let alone a UH1 Huey. That's why we do it. I am currently chopping the canopy, TSU and Turret off an S model Cobra and rebuilding it into a Vietnam G model.post-180924-0-88936800-1558563792_thumb.jpeg

Nice display, I like that you included signs/labels too. So many members of the general public are trying to take in what they are seeing, and may not really know what it is they are looking at. Good job!

Thank you! Of course some people still asked what some items were even though there were labels...

Nice display you have there. I was stationed at K.I. Sawyer from 10 October 1966 till 2 Feb. 1970 when I took my discharge from active duty. I was in the 410th Supply Squadron. Many good memories of the base and some not so good. Both my kids were born at the base hospital. I DO NOT miss the UP winters tho.

Sorry, but I don't have anything to donate to your display.

Thank you! I agree about the winters, this past winter was incredibly brutal. NMU cancelled class over 20 times this year which is unheard of up there. One day it got -40 with wind chill!

On the bright side, they must have been interested enough to learn. ;)
