dan_the_hun84 Posted May 13, 2019 #1 Posted May 13, 2019 Hello- looking for some help- on a WW2 Ike possible chemical unit?
Captainofthe7th Posted May 13, 2019 #2 Posted May 13, 2019 The closest I found was 69th Infantry, but that doesn't jive with the rest of the uniform being artillery and the 69th never seeing combat. I am interested to know if it is connected to a non-divisional arty battalion, though the blue enamel does not scream arty to me. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/69th_Infantry_Regiment_(United_States) Rob
Captainofthe7th Posted May 14, 2019 #4 Posted May 14, 2019 Great ID! Thank you, it's always tough without a motto. Dan - there is a end-of-war unit history / roster and unfortunately I do not see the name in the uniform on the PH list or the full roster. I'm not sure why as it looks like an honest uniform. Rob

Rob Yeah I was hoping for a bit of luck too- as through as that unit history is I am wondering if the owner transferred IN to the 893rd after being wounded with a different unit- or maybe it was a jacket trade situation- who knows - lack of a TD SSI is a little odd too- usually those guys were pretty proud of their affiliation.
