Verein Deutscher Krieger Cleveland Silver Cross
“Verein Deutscher Krieger Cleveland” translates Association of German War Veterans of Cleveland. The earliest mention of this group that I could find was in the 1871-72 Cleveland city directory which lists their address at 2077 West 25th street which is in the South Western section of that city. The reverse is blank with the fineness mark of 950 which is commonly found on German medals of that era indicate that this cross was probably made in Germany. The cross is about 38 mm across.

My guess would have been only black and white, but then I looked up the history of the Germanic flags and see that black, white and red were used between 1867 and 1918.
