dg0223 Posted May 3, 2019 Share #1 Posted May 3, 2019 Here are a couple of ribbon bars that I'm currently working on recreating. These are Chesty Puller's and Smedley Buther's ribbon racks. These are modern-era ribbons, so obviously they're reproductions. I'm still working on sourcing some of the attachments for them, particularly the Maltese Cross for Butler's WWI Victory ribbon. Comments are always welcome.

dg0223 Posted May 6, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted May 6, 2019 This is the picture I used for Chesty Puller's ribbon bar. It is my understanding there were several different combinations of ribbon bars that were worn, particularly since there are foreign awards on a lot of these ribbon bars. dg0223 Posted May 6, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted May 6, 2019 And for General Butler's ribbon bar, I used this photo as a reference. This is a photo of a reproduction of his ribbon bar from another member on this board.

dg0223 Posted May 6, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted May 6, 2019 Jarhead8007, Those are interesting shots of his ribbon bar. Also interesting is how he seems to have the silver citation star on his WWI Victory ribbon, yet on others he only has the Maltese Cross attachment. Are there any records of General Butler being authorized the silver star attachment?
Brig Posted May 10, 2019 Share #8 Posted May 10, 2019 He's wearing a Bronze Star device, not silver
