Captured SS Insignia - 87th Infantry Division

This group walked into a local gunstore and I was fortunate enough to get it. It belonged to a member of Company C, 735th Tank Battalion who likely picked it up during the closing days of WWII. The insignia is well worn and was removed from the uniform.

 

The Veteran later served as the secretary of the 87th infantry association and he is pictured within a unit history that came with the group. He is on the right in the photograph.

It doesn't get much better than that! I always love seeing SS cut offs and the veteran provenance is the cherry on top. Congratulations!

I’m guessing everything looks period correct?

Both items are 100% original. Cut offs are always hard to authenticate but I like the look of this one. You can rest easy with these pieces, if you cant I can always take them of your hands ;)
