redone Posted April 30, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2019 I picked up a Military Police grouping that belong to a vet who served with the 97th MP Bn / 18th MP Bd in Vietnam 1967 -68. Included and pictured was a MP Green colored clip on tie. I've never seen a photo of a MP with a green tie. I know civilian police wear clip on ties so I didn't think that was stretch for MP use, but the green color has me questioning this common. Has anyone come across this before ? Also, this group with a Navy Boatswain's whistle also pictured. What would this type whistle be used for by a ground force MP? Has anyone come across this before? I hope you can help. Thanks, Chris
MP25 Posted April 30, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 30, 2019 The neck tie for the Class A Army uniform in the 1960s was black. That whistle was never used by Army MPs.....The issued pea whistle was o/d plastic. Almost all MPs purchased brass whistles, although they were nothing more than decoration...….
