hink441 Posted April 28, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 28, 2019 I picked up these three ready room coffee mugs on eBay. These belonged to Cdr Guy Cane who was the CAG onboard the USS F D Roosevelt during the 1973 cruise. I thought these were really cool. He retired as a Captain and had an interesting career. US Naval Academy 1954. Vietnam Aviator with one MIG kill while flying the F-8 Crusader with VF-53 off the USS Bon Homme Richard in 1968. Later he was the Skipper with VF-41 flying the F-4 Phantom. He had 212 combat missions and over 1000 carrier landings. He was also a Navy test pilot. The cups are from 1973 when he was CAG-9 commander. hink441 Posted April 28, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted April 28, 2019 Cool Mugs. Good job keeping them together! Thanks for the comment. I would love to get the cups from the entire Carrier Air Group. The complete set is probably lost to time. Have you gotten any nice buckles lately? Chris

Brian Keith Posted April 29, 2019 Share #5 Posted April 29, 2019 Cool mugs. I wonder how many gallons of coffee went through them. I pick up stuff like that when I find it cheep at a thrift store. BKW
