A not so common flyers glove still stitch tacked together, contract dated 1967..

they fit like a ...well they fit perfect, but leaving them tacked for now...

I have never run across a pair...and have read they are USAF issue for a limited time

I have a brand new pair of size 8s myself still tacked and in the plastic bag. Forget if they are 67 or 68 contract. They look similar to the FRP-1 nomex gloves, though not sure on what they are made of and obviously 2 tone gray vs OD and gray. They pop up time to time, I believe there was a old thread on here about them.

Hello

just noticed now this topic. Yes an interesting glove, possibly not very much known    -   officialy introduced in USAF/Army service about October or November 1964 if I'm not wrong. Two-tone cotton/leather construction w/ pattern close to GS-FRP/1's but w/o any fire-retardant properties.

Hues of gray/very light azure particularly appealing to me.  Here mine from 1967

In my opinion a not much known gloves, yet they must have been a transitional item that also saw operational use. If period of introduction is correct as I found it (autumn 1964) they pre-date the GS-FRP/1 gloves by at least two years, being the first to propose the pattern fabric + leather that will become a standard subsequently.

The GS-FRP/1' fabric was an early Nomex while the HGU-7/P's wasn't fire retardant, but resemblance is evident. Mine as pictured in above posts have a 1967 date, and Size 8.
