I don't know how I missed this, great work as usual. That's too bad about the figures. I agree with you working with poorly cast figures is just not worth the time.

But, the tank looks great so far.

Well I took a couple of days off for Mother's Day and sons graduation, but I just got back to my M-48. I received the individual tracks from Bronco but they are very intricate and I'm not going thru all that trouble. So I ordered the AFV Club tracks (early) for my M-48. I still have to reorder the figures. While I wait I've been able to weather my tank with oil washes and dry brushing. But I want to put on the tracks before I give it the Vietnam weathering. I have also done some personal packs, C-ration boxes, a couple of jerry cans (that need to be tweaked), the searchlight and 4 canteens & covers and a couple of ammo boxes. I still have to put on some decals on the ammo boxes.

This project is moving along rather nicely there Manny. Too bad about those figures though, I'd be plenty upset to say the least. Recasts are a real problem of late. Seems like the majority come out of Asia or eastern Europe. Try to seek out your figures from reputable dealers even if it costs a tad more. I'll continue to watch your progress here. :)

I'm still looking around for those figures from the Bravo6 website. They have a listing of reputable distributors. I didn't know about recasts. I just received another set of figures from Bravo6 and the difference in quality is night and day. Luckily since I bought the bad figures thru ebay I was able to get reimbursed.

Everyone thanks for following this build, I'll post some more pics as I progress.

Have a memorable Memorial Day to all the veterans, their families and everyone on US Militaria.

I hope everyone had a good D-Day remembrance. It was a great day yesterday as both my M48 tracks and Bravo6 figures arrived at the same time. Finally got to work.

I filled the bustle basket on the tank with the supplies. Next is to put on the necessary decals. I primed my figures and got started on my tracks. I hope to get some more work done tonight. I have my base picked out and I just need to stain it and put the groundwork and foliage on it. So its all coming along. Enjoy the pics and as always ALL comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

Awesome weathering effects on the turret, top paintjob. (If you don't mind I'm posting your pictures again turned around).

Well I just love AFV Club tracks. They go well together and are easy to work with. I used Star Decals for the tank and they went down well. After dull coting the decals I'm extremely happy how they look. Of course with a little more weathering they will blend even more. Now I'll put it all together and weather the tank. Next step is the figures ground work and foliage. Enjoy the pics and as always all comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

Your use of texture is amazing... especially that canvas around the gun mount. Loved the C ration boxes as well.

Well the M48 tank is done. I gave it markings from the US Marines who first landed in Vietnam in 1965, Charlie Company, 4th Platoon, #2 Tank of the 3rd Tank Battalion in Chu Lai, Vietnam. I weathered the tank with some thinned oil paints, pastels and pigments. I also added a couple of spare track links, the tow cables and the wading exhaust pipe. I will add an antenna when I add the figures and I'll probably tweak here and there. Enjoy and as always all comments and critiques are greatly appreciated. Now on to the figures!

Superb paintjob on the tank. The surface of the M48 really looks metallic, TOP! Can't wait to see it with the crew.

Manny, your M48 looks great! Not overly weathered and with a nice amount of stowed items. Looking forward to see how those figures turn out!
