Recent display for a church / community program just south of me

Recommended Posts

Here is a display I recently set up at a church / community veteran function for a town just south of me. I was having back issues so I had a friend help me load and unload but it was well worth it. I had a lot of great complements on it. I set it up by branch instead of my normal timeline display. What do you guys think?

Would be great to see it in person Bob. You've got it down to an art!

And I looked, and Behold a Pale Horse:

And his name that sat upon him was death,

and Hell followed with him.

Excellent display, Bob. A person that has never tried to set up a display like this cannot imagine the work that is involved. I set up a similar display for a local high school's "Honor the Veteran" program. I spent weeks laying everything out and deciding what to bring and how to display it. I had to load it all in an enclosed trailer and transport it to the location. Then unload it and set it up. Once it was out and arranged, then I had to guard it just in case there was someone there that might want a souvenir. When the program was over, I had to break everything down, load it back into the trailer and bring it back home. Once home, I had to put everything back where I got it. It took me several days to get it back the way I had it. To be honest, some of the Riker cases still need to be organized. So, thank you for all your effort, time and unselfish support for the community.

I can see why the people appreciated this display so well. I know the "blood-sweat-and-tears" involved in setting up my own chronological displays here at home, without any deadlines- however, this set-up you've done with documents, histories and figure displays, done in a short time, is just awesome.

I'm so old, I still call W.W.II U.S. militaria "war surplus".
