RustyCanteen Posted April 9, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 9, 2019 How many watched last night's episode of the Antiques Roadshow? Interesting location, and some amazing items showcased. On the militaria side, Jeff Schrader appraised an awesome painted A2 jacket in his segment, which can be seen in the link starting at about the 19:38 timestamp. MAW Posted April 9, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 9, 2019 What was the appraisal, out of curiosity? I lost the link when watching and didn't get to see the end....

Scarecrow Posted April 10, 2019 Share #7 Posted April 10, 2019 Just watched the episode from my local cable company's "On Demand". I was pleasantly surprised when it was revealed by Jeff that the A-2 was from the 490th Bomb Group. As some of you may have noticed in my profile footer, I collect the 490th. My Father-In-law was a togeleer/nose gunner on a 490th B-17 named the "Lady Helene". He was in the 850th BS. So seeing this A-2 made this a special episode for me. Was fortunate to attend last year's Antiques Roadshow in Newport RI, talked with Jeff about the item I had brought, which was an A-2 from a pilot in the 152nd Observation Squadron, based in RI at Hillsgrove Army Air Field. Jeff was his usual knowledgeable, polite and professional self.
