........and by that I am referring to the sewing kits that were either issued or PX-store bought, of course .

 

I really like the personal stuff that GI's carried with them and these little items may not seem (no pun intended this time) that interesting at first but they were still essential. Oh, and I do know how to sew on a patch or replace a button, by the way.

Mine is definitely worse for wear, but still intact. The drawstring is gone, as are most of the contents, but at least it still has rusty scissors and needles. I think the picture could give you tetanus just by looking at it.

Well here's another thing I'll need to look to add to the collection. Rene, I won't needle you about sewing ability. My Grandpa Frank was a tailor but a button or patch is about all I can manage.
