gumbytoddnet Posted March 28, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 28, 2019 Hello I am trying to figure out this cord? This is a named uniform. Found him on the roster sheet of HQ Co. HQ Bn. 15th Armor 1943. He was a Tech corporal then. Any help on cord ID would be great? Thank You!
Allan H. Posted March 28, 2019 Share #2 Posted March 28, 2019 The colors look like Ordnance branch of service. The uniform is problematic as the National Defense ribbon didn't come out until 1954, well after the T 5 chevrons went away. The armor brass is also well past WWII vintage. I would assume that someone has taken a WWII Ike jacket and simply added the insignia. Allan
gumbytoddnet Posted March 28, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted March 28, 2019 Thanks Allan for your fast reply! It was a antique mall find! So God knows! It is the full jacket 1942 date not the Ike but you would not know that with my picture. So I need to strip the insignia and put it away! Thanks Again! doyler Posted March 28, 2019 Share #4 Posted March 28, 2019 Todd Any markings on the two qualification badges? Agree its a full jacket and someone has added a few post WW2 items to it. The pocket flaps are straight and the gold buttons are seen on the shoulder strap and through the button hole.
