Hi,

Found this British made Brodie today that a lady was selling. It has a 6th Division emblem painted on the front, and is stamped either BS 7 or B8 8. Would like to know more about the helmet. Thank you!

Approximately 1.5 million British helmets were purchased and issued to American Doughboys between the end of 1917 and the end of 1918, or possibly 1919. It's not all that uncommon to see AEF insignia painted onto British issued Doughboy helmets.

That's a good painted 6th Division insignia. I've seen other helmets that were similarly painted.
