Pip Posted March 15, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 15, 2019 I went to a sale today but it was the 2nd day of the sale and most of the military stuff was gone. I did find some papers and a patch. I tried searching for Fox Hammer , Fox Hammer Navy and can not find it. Is this patch military? The man was a Navy Pilot from what I can tell. I did find some Kodachrome slides that I need to go through that hopefully have some plane images.

Pip Posted March 15, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted March 15, 2019 Thanks! I wish I would have went yesterday. They said there was a bunch of military stuff that all sold this morning. I wonder why they did get the paper work and patch but got the medals and such
Salvage Sailor Posted March 15, 2019 Share #7 Posted March 15, 2019 Nice patch, that is the 1950's version and it looks like a Gemsco. Here's the late 50's early 60's (VP-5) Mad Foxes Gemsco version with the tabs

Pip Posted March 15, 2019 Author Share #10 Posted March 15, 2019 I looked through the slides and it looks like he was stationed somewhere in Iceland as there are about 100 slides from there but no other military related slides that I could find. Salvage Sailor Posted March 16, 2019 Share #11 Posted March 16, 2019 The first slide is a USN Lockheed P-2 Neptune patrol bomber Prior to the introduction of the P-3 Orion in the mid-1960s, the Neptune was the primary U.S. land-based anti-submarine patrol aircraft, intended to be operated as the hunter of a '"Hunter-Killer" group, with destroyers employed as killers. shedonwanna Posted May 8, 2019 Share #13 Posted May 8, 2019 I made several of these in leather for the squadron about 10 years ago. They wanted the "buff" fox and even added eyelashes to one.
