oakleaf777 Posted March 12, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2019 Are numbered US Army Philippine Insurrection medals traceable to their original recipients? (Specifically medal #26510). If so, what sources of information should be consulted to obtain this information? Thanks
CNY Militaria Posted March 12, 2019 Share #2 Posted March 12, 2019 OMSA has medal rolls on their site: http://www.omsa.org/us-medal-rolls-2/ I checked your number, but it did not come back with any results.
Bruce Linz Posted March 12, 2019 Share #3 Posted March 12, 2019 Hello, Some Philippine Campaign Medals are traceable. There is a published Medal Roll for Philippine Campaign Medlsl with "No." prefixes. In covers medals No. 1 to No. 23250 and No. 23501 to No. 25000. " No." prefixed medals above No. 25000 are not on the rolls. Additionally, there are no medal rolls for Philippine Campaign Medals with MNo. prefixes and Philippine Campaign Medals that are unprefixed (i.e. 23746 that is just a number without "No." or "MNo." in front of the number). Basically, only the medals listed in paragraph one are traceable. I would say your medal is not traceable regardless of whether it has a prefix or not. I hope this answers your questions.
