Gfirearms Posted March 6, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 6, 2019 Looking for help on the Mills double loop belt. Has an "H" buckle attached. Anyone know what the "7 A" is for? Thanks.

doyler Posted March 6, 2019 Share #3 Posted March 6, 2019 Also its a set of 7th Cavalry sabres. Was also quite common to see these on brass bugles that were repro from the 70s and 80s as well. The shotgun News Magazine use to sell all kinds of this stuff....Winchester,Wells Fargo,7th Cav were the main fakes
Gfirearms Posted March 6, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted March 6, 2019 Interesting. Even though it has all the patent stamps?

Gfirearms Posted March 6, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted March 6, 2019 Thank you for the reply. After I looked at it more I realized it had a threaded cap badge.
Marchville1918 Posted March 6, 2019 Share #7 Posted March 6, 2019 I believe that I read where you can recognize the fake Mills plates by the placement of the patent info on the back. It is my recollection that on the original plates the lettering runs to the very edge, but on the fakes it is spaced as on the example above. in other words the fakes look more nicely done than the originals as far as the placement and spacing of the patent info.
