JesseJames Posted February 27, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 27, 2019 I found this and it seems like a nice piece of unused surplus at $75. Its supposedly dated 1971. Chinese reproduction or real?
doyler Posted February 27, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 27, 2019 Not a US issue liner.More like the Euro types. The cloth liner chin strap is a clue.I would say the shell is also not US but Im sure you are going to have to post more pictures and markings (if any on the camo cover) In Memoriam:Lieutenant J.Kostelec 1-3 First Special Service Force MIA/PD 4 March 1944 ItalyI HAVE SEEN THE ENEMY AND IT IS DAYLIGHTForget about the tips..We'll get hell to pay (AC/DC)"If you cant get out and run with the big dogs then sit on the porch and bark at the cars going by.." MattS Posted February 27, 2019 Share #3 Posted February 27, 2019 It looks like this liner is one piece of molded plastic and no US issued liner was ever made that way (to my knowledge) so that would be a giant red flag. The cloth liner strap would be #2. That would throw the authenticity of the shell, cover, and band into suspicion also. You are correct, the Chinese make reproductions, I don't know if this is one of those.
