Austin_Militaria Posted February 27, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 27, 2019 Picked up this gun camera at the SOS and found a Japanese Dog Tag inside. Mailed home by Dewey Blackmon of Haw River North Carolina. He was with the Service Company of the 19th Infantry Regiment. The Dog tag was a nice surprise. muddyboots Posted February 28, 2019 Share #5 Posted February 28, 2019 Great pickup and if you get the dog tag decoded it might give you a place of pickup.
muddyboots Posted February 28, 2019 Share #6 Posted February 28, 2019 I picked up a tag a few years back with the code 16706 and a few other codes were talked about and the 1st Sea Going Destroyer Battalion 16708 was one of them. My tag came out of the Philippines. I cant say for sure that yours came from there but could be likely. Heres my tag.
muddyboots Posted February 28, 2019 Share #7 Posted February 28, 2019 The16708 was also considered to be a 1st Sea Pursuit Battalion at least that’s what was talked about on Wehrmacht Awards Japanese section where mine was posted years ago.
