MattS Posted February 26, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 26, 2019 Think there was something lost in translation, lieutenant rank is usually referred to as "bars", like bars of silver or gold (barre d'argent ou d'or). These are first lieutenant bars. They look WW2 vintage, possibly British made, and curved for wear on the shoulder to me.
surdescharbonsardents Posted February 26, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted February 26, 2019 Thank you MattS for your answer. I confirm that they are second-class and not first-class. The color is bronze. I thought that the little model was only for caps and not uniforms.
MattS Posted February 26, 2019 Share #4 Posted February 26, 2019 Army lieutenant bars measure 1" (or 2.5 cm) for hats and uniforms. The US Navy and US Marines used 2 sizes of rank, but the army only used these.
