Calvin Hall Posted February 15, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 15, 2019 I was pleased to recently acquire these two nice wings from a local estate. Both are sterling. Note the wear to the senior parachutist wing. Thoughts and comments are appreciated.
Allan H. Posted February 15, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 15, 2019 Nice pieces that I would say date to the Vietnam period. Your Senior Parachutist badge has a lot of character! Allan
Calvin Hall Posted February 15, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted February 15, 2019 Hi Allen, Interesting...he went through jump school in the early 1950s.
Allan H. Posted February 15, 2019 Share #4 Posted February 15, 2019 The best way to date a wing is by looking at the back of it. From what I can see from the front, they look like post WWII insignia. The ovals look the same for guys serving in the 50's as they do when serving in the 1970's. If the guy was jump qualified in the early 50's, he may not have made Senior level until the 1960's.
