This is a recent pick up from a local veteran that served from Aug. 1966-Sept. 67 in Vietnam. The gentleman, Jim Evans, was going to be drafted so he joined the Marines and became a water purification specialist. When he got to Vietnam he said he was in the laundry section the entire time and worked long hours one day and the next day he had off. He said he was at Danang the entire time and that the enemy mainly shelled the air force side of the base. While on R&R one rocket landed right outside his hooch and he lucked out. He was part of the 3rd Marine Division.

That has to be one of the cleanest examples I've ever seen. I'd suspect he did not wear it that much for it to be in that condition.

The multi-colored Danang and Vietnam are also pretty unique. It makes you wonder what technique they used to do that.

Thank you for sharing.

Thanks guys. It had been in the back of a closet and had mildew issues so I dry cleaned it. He said women workers came on base and he paid one for it. Read the history of the base last night and it sounded like there were a couple large rocket attacks there during his tour.
