easterneagle87 Posted July 30, 2023 Share #131 Posted July 30, 2023 Interesting Sgt Maj. Musician uniform listing on ebay right now. Love the hat. Same photos and others will be listed on other sections as well; crests being worn & glider badges being worn.

Ranger-1972 Posted March 21 Share #135 Posted March 21 Great images of Army bands from the Civil War through modern times. Any suggestions for where to look for antebellum Army bands on the frontier (Texas, NM, AZ, CA, etc.)? "And the Drums Would Roll" is a great resource, but begins in 1866. Every regiment stationed in Texas from the end of the Mexican War to the start of the Civil War had a band, but details are pretty scarce. There are some Ogden drawings of the uniform of Army musicians -- but after the 1851 uniform changes (which were not widespread on the frontier until after 1853).
