Hookemhorns88 Posted February 1, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 1, 2019 A buddy of mine has access to this jacket. He suspects it was from a pilot/crewmember of a B-24. Anyone out there have an idea on the unit depicted? Is it a Disney design? Is this a WW2 jacket or Korean War? Ballpark value? Thanks in advance. PacificGunner Posted February 1, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 1, 2019 The Squadron patch is from the 448th Bomb Group, 713th Bombardment Squadron, 8th Air Force. They flew B-24s out of Seething, Norfolk, starting in late 1943. Not sure who designed it, but it looks like something from Disney. It's a World War II type A-2 jacket, I would guess the value to be 1200 or more. My estimate may be low, so other forum member's estimates might give you a better idea of the value. It would also add value if you had the history of the vet to go with the jacket
Hookemhorns88 Posted February 2, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted February 2, 2019 Thanks for the quick ID on the insignia. I will have to do some more research to determine if it is a Disney design.
