My Mother In Law was married twice and her 2nd husband brought this home as a souvenir. he served with the 55th Station Hospital in North Africa and Italy.

The paperweight is Cavalry Regiment of Italy at Livorno.

While in Italy during WWII , he captured a banner and this paperweight. The details of how he captured it and his trip to the leaning tower of Piza and attached.

I have no idea of the true age or rarity of this item. What do you all think?

Kurt,

I have no idea of the value but enjoyed the read! That sounds like some of the rememberances that would be shared fondly at the unit reunion.
