Army dog tags, I no idea of time frame

1924 through 1930s. Occasionally you will see a soldier that enlisted pre-WWII that still had these very early in the war.

 

Looks like yours are to an officer.

Paul Braddock dates this pattern as 1924 in his book on dog tags. Most date from the 1920s -1930s but I have seen several pairs to men who enlisted as late as 1941. Your tags probably date from c.1940. Soelberg is listed as a 1st LT, Coast Artillery Corps, at Fort Rosecrans, CA in the July 1941 Army Directory, Reserve and National Guard Officers on Active Duty.

Thanks Jay, that is news to me. Most coastal units were folded into other units as the war progressed. Anyone have any leads?
