Tonomachi Posted January 4, 2019 Share #2 Posted January 4, 2019 There is a similar patch identified as the USS Bumper SS-333 diesel submarine but instead of 4.0 it says SS-333.
Bearmon Posted January 4, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted January 4, 2019 Looks really close, Now to figure out what 4.0 represents if it represents anything other than an error. Thank you

Randy Posted January 7, 2019 Share #6 Posted January 7, 2019 I don't know anything about subs but I looked this one up. I said the Bumper was transferred to the Turkish Navy in 1950. This Japanese made patch was made much later than 1950. This pre-stitched embroidery style came around in the later 1950s. Just something to think about. It is probably a made for collectors, I am good with that. As long as they are inexpensive. The fun is in the ID a lot of the time. I am not trying to discount your response as it is totally correct and I appreciate the answers always. Bearmon
