mruiz Posted January 4, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted January 4, 2019 I am at Walter Reed Hospital then to Richmond VCU. I don't have pics with me. Found that they are rear seam.
everforward Posted January 4, 2019 Share #4 Posted January 4, 2019 Both of them..? A Schlueter 51A is real early, should be a FS-FB. Mine is a 65A, all early features.
Indexred Posted January 4, 2019 Share #5 Posted January 4, 2019 Unfortunately there is now way to precisely date a WWII M1 helmet based on the manufacturer’s lot number (and it is a lot number, not a heat number). The authors of Helmets of the ETO published a table purporting to date McCord helmets based on lot number, but the table isn’t based on primary-source documentation. It’s merely an extrapolation or guesswork.
mruiz Posted January 4, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted January 4, 2019 Yes sir, I got them from a grouping of a Solders his name was Uncle Louie. At Bellwood flea market. Both are rear seam and could be rewelded bails to swivel, or rebuilt.Attatch is the picture of the Soldier
