Phfly1010 Posted December 19, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 19, 2018 Have a chance to pick up these gloves but need to know if these are ww2, what years used, what theater, which flight uniform, helmet and ox mask these would work with, and finally an acceptable price. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me but be sure about your answers please.
Navybean Posted December 19, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 19, 2018 They look like possibly German gloves ? Do the Snaps have a name on them?
Phfly1010 Posted December 19, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted December 19, 2018 Seller reports no writing on snaps. Found this pic online of a p38 pilot in 1945 online and he may be wearing the gloves in question, but I don't see the straps, although the light colored dot on the gloves in the pic could be the snaps and the straps could be secured. 38Driver Posted December 19, 2018 Share #4 Posted December 19, 2018 Thinking they are dispatch rider gloves or something similar. I believe the gloves in your image are F2 heated gloves and the pilot is a recce 38 driver as he has an A-13 mask and the 38 suffered with cockpit heating issues which would lead to the use of a heated suit for a long range recce flight
Phfly1010 Posted December 19, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted December 19, 2018 38 - thanks for sharing your knowledge. I don't buy anything online that I cannot confirm. I enjoy this forum for shared info like you have given because it helps me to confirm/learn what I need to know.
