wardao Posted December 14, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 14, 2018 No expert to the a2 jacket field and was hoping to get some assistance on authenticity of jacket. Knopf contract #. Talon Zipper. Appears original 118th TRS patches on front but cloth shoulder patches. Jacket named to a pilot who did fly in the 118th TRS. Thought maybe could be a GW with patches added but zipper appears to match originals I've seen. What image uploader site can I use on here? I have numerous photos but cannot add them all due to size. Thanks for any help
Stony Posted December 14, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 14, 2018 Close up of label? At first glance the patches look like re-pops to me.
wardao Posted December 14, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted December 14, 2018 Close up of label? At first glance the patches look like re-pops to me. I have lots of close ups but unable to post them all. Is there a specific image uploader thats used here? I tried No_outside_hosting but appears this forums blocks it. juvatwad Posted January 9, 2019 Share #4 Posted January 9, 2019 From the photos, the jacket looks original. The guy was there very late, so the patches could be legit, just not well used.
phantomfixer Posted January 9, 2019 Share #5 Posted January 9, 2019 A-2 looks good...great actually...unsure of the patches...here is a good link on the 118th and A-2shttps://www.vintageleatherjackets.org/threads/knopf-a2-from-the-118th-tactical-reconnaissance-squadron.17925/
Airborne-Hunter Posted January 9, 2019 Share #6 Posted January 9, 2019 Patch on the right seems ok. Left is probably fine. Would want close ups, but no red flags. Best ABN
JDK Posted January 14, 2019 Share #7 Posted January 14, 2019 Looks like a beauty to me. That 118th TRS patch is very rare and valuable. The 23rd patch looks good as well. If you could post a better photo of it, I could tell you for sure. JD
