Fritz Posted December 2, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 2, 2018 Hey guys, picked this up this morning, at first I thought it was Navy but after looking at it close with a loop, could it be Army? The Insignia on the collar is US but the device sure looks like a winged prop, really has me puzzled. Thoughts Fritz
world war I nerd Posted December 2, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 2, 2018 I don't see any rank insignia or a cap badge - could it be a Red Cross insignia on the collar? Hard to tell what the visor cap is … It might be military & it might not. Can you post a close up of the cap? Maybe I can ID it.

world war I nerd Posted December 3, 2018 Share #4 Posted December 3, 2018 Even with the closer picture of the hat, I still can't figure out what it is. The closer view of the collar brass kind of looks like maybe a chaplain's cross? Sorry, but I'm stumped?

world war I nerd Posted December 3, 2018 Share #6 Posted December 3, 2018 I know what the collar insignia is … It just hit me … they are foreshortened crossed artillery barrels!
Fritz Posted December 3, 2018 Author Share #7 Posted December 3, 2018 Bam! Your right, didn’t even think of that, I was so focused on air service. Fritz
atb Posted December 3, 2018 Share #8 Posted December 3, 2018 How about that obscure Army branch of service called Bureau of Insular Affairs? That insignia used Air Corps-like wings as part of the design.
