USCapturephotos Posted November 18, 2018 Share #37 Posted November 18, 2018 Just wow! My only papered bring back pistol was a 42 Luger brought back by an 82 AB vet. I just sold it a month ago sadly to fund another non weapon GI bring back. I still miss it. Paul

thorin6 Posted November 22, 2018 Share #47 Posted November 22, 2018 I'll throw this one in. The soldier was in the 85th Cav Recon Squadron, part of the 5th Armor Div. It's a M1892 French pistol, and was made in 1893. It's in excellent condition, and my understanding is that it was given to him by one of the French gendarme. Came to me from his son, whom I served with my last duty at Fort Bragg. By his request, his father's name has been redacted. The holster was made by his father to carry the pistol.
