Unmarked pistol belt

Anyone know what era this pistol belt is? I got it for nearly nothing at a flea market 10-20 years ago, always assumed it was US WW2 era but I haven't seen another quite like it.

It's well worn, but the khaki is lighter than most other belts of the era. The buckles, snap, and eyelets are all brass. The male end of the buckle has a slight twist to it. The sliders have worn to a shine and are not brass. The hook and end plate look to be aluminum or steel. No markings of any kind, probably long wore off.

Is this WW2, pre-war, or foreign?

If keepers are made out of copper it's a 1941, if brass is an early 1942.

Keepers almost appear to be chrome. Shiny and polished.
