pegasus2018 Posted October 31, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 31, 2018 Hi All, Just a quick post to firstly thank the US Militaria Forum for allowing me to join this forum. I very much look forward to getting to know you all and acquiring further knowledge from the many years of experience gathered here on this site, whilst at the same time hoping to contribute some of the knowledge I have gained over the past few years, where I can. Secondly, a little bit about myself. My name is Richard and I live in the UK. I have a great interest for all things Militaria, but more passionate about collecting helmets and headgear in particular. My collection predominantly includes many US M1 helmets from WW2 through to Vietnam, but also those modified by the Argentinian forces for use in the Falklands War. I also have a small but select collection of German WW2 M35, M40 and M42s, and an even smaller collection of Iraqi and US helmets from Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. I have visited many WW2 historical sites in Poland, such as Westerplatte-Gdańsk, Auschwitz, the few remaining places of significance in Warsaw & Lublin. Also Berlin, and many sites in Normandy, France. Next year I plan to visit Arnhem and the Ardennes. Anyway, I will gradually start sharing some pictures of my personal collection of US M1 helmets and again look forward to participating in discussions with you all. Thanks for having me!
