steamer98 Posted December 8, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 8, 2008 I have had this Khaki shirt with a gas flap for a few years and I was wondering if anyone had any information on it. The only marking on it is the size tag. It has a three button gas flap, no epaulets, and two buttons under the fold of the collar to the rear. I also have pants made of the same material that I bought with the shirt. The pants have a button fly watch fob pocket and no markings that I can find. Is this set WW2? Johndanger Posted December 8, 2008 Share #3 Posted December 8, 2008 Enlisted summer or tropical uniform , shirt is often marked " special " and is uncommon, should also have gass flaps at the cuff openings, you might find a tag under the pants pockets, but as these uniforms were washed often they are commonly washed out. the dark brown buttons is a good sign of a wartime chino set. steamer98 Posted December 8, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted December 8, 2008 The cuffs do have mini gas flaps, I was wondering why they looked funny! I checked the pants pockets for markings but I couldn't find any and I'm sure your right Johndanger about them having been washed out. One last question, what were the two buttons for that are located underneath the rear of the folded collar?
