The Photo Alchemist

WWI Corporal BENJAMIN BLAYTON

Recommended Posts

In the fall of 1918, through the thick haze of gun smoke and mustard gas, French soldiers, American Expeditionary Forces (AEF), and German soldiers toiled in their respective trenches, fighting and scrapping through dirt and the leftover splinters of a forest, the destruction of World War I surrounding them. Fought from September 26 to the Armistice on November 11, the Meuse-Argonne Offensive included the 365th Infantry Regiment, 92nd Division "Buffalo Soldiers."

Corporal Benjamin Blayton, was one of those who served in this historic American regiment.

It always deeply saddens me to see old photos of soldiers in a bad state of conservation. I hope you like the before and after results

Have a great weekend

Could be. When I first looked, I just assumed it was a Victory Medal ribbon, but I'm willing to adjust my initial assessment.

Need a closer look to know for sure though.

By the way, another great colorized image Claudia.

What do you think, everyone, is that a CdG ribbon bar with star on his pocket? MHJ

I think it is a WWI Victory Ribbon with a star. If it was a GCM ribbon, I would think he would have it AND the WWI Victory Medal ribbon.
