trenchfoot Posted December 24, 2018 Author Share #211 Posted December 24, 2018 Here's one that is heavily sun bleached with a LT's bar on the front. It is named inside but not much has been found on the guy.
trenchfoot Posted December 24, 2018 Author Share #212 Posted December 24, 2018 And here is my all time favorite: This belonged to a Captain in the 45th Military Intelligence Company when he was stationed in Saigon, and the helmet has that written inside. The jump wings which stumped me for the longest time were awarded to him while he was with the 519th M.I. Battalion (Airborne) when it was attached to the 82nd Airborne during Operation Power Pack. He went to retire as a LtCol.

MilitariaMan Posted January 5, 2019 Share #218 Posted January 5, 2019 I know I'm a little late but I got this Korean war Navy fire helmet repainted for Vietnam with some graffiti on it I thought I would share. The front has his name and rank on it which is SSgt and Parker. The 2nd picture's symbol is unknown to me. In the 3rd picture it's hard to make out but there are 2 lightning bolts drawn on it. The other side of the helmet had some graffiti on it too but some paint got scraped off where it was.
hink441 Posted January 5, 2019 Share #219 Posted January 5, 2019 The second picture looks like a hoist point stencil used on aircraft to identify lift points. Chris
Ty-rva Posted January 6, 2019 Share #220 Posted January 6, 2019 Here is my contribution. This helmet belonged to Robert M Robinson. During WWII he was with the 505th 82nd and served in Korea and Vietnam too. He was awarded 3 CBI, as you can see with his insignia. What is cool about this helmet is the stitched on leadership stripe, never seen that before. .
