WWI vet in my family tree

I just found out that my Grandmother was married once before prior to meeting and marrying my Grandfather. He was a Canadian but served in the US military in WWI.

His name was Aner Logan MATTHEWS, and he was born on August 3rd, 1898.

Can anyone help me with someway to find any info on his military service or what branch he was in. He's not a blood relation but still having been a Canadian and married to my Grandmother I find it very interesting that he went and served with the US in WWI....not to mention that I was shocked to find that my Grandmother had been married before :o

Thanks in advance!

Rick

Well according to family lore, his marriage to my Grandmother was pretty short too, apparently he had some issues, but he went on to be married two more times.

Thanks Bill, I think this will be enough. As I said it was more out of interest to see what kind of service he had in the US Army as a Canadian. Apparently it was so short he probably barely got out of basic training, or maybe he washed out of basic.

Cheers,

Rick
