gwb123 Posted September 24, 2018 Share #1 Posted September 24, 2018 I was sorting photos from my days in Germany when I found this. I think it was the last plastic model I ever built that wasn't made of Legos. This was a presentation gift for the outgoing commander of the 708th Maintenance Battalion. In my hold baggage I had brought a Monogram Jeep kit. I am not sure where the Smurfs came from. As you can see, they are using their expertise to return the vehicle to prime running condition. They are standing on a maintenance form which indicates the replaced parts have been scrounged. It was received with all of the humor intended. If you ever worked in a maintenance unit or even a motor pool, you understand.
gwb123 Posted September 24, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted September 24, 2018 Close up of the skilled mechanics. Back in the day, you could walk into a toy shop and find Smurfs for every profession and sport on the planet.

You should consider getting back into model building!
