Never saw it before. It may be from one of several Support Squadrons in the 6000 range. PACAF had all kinds of these flying many kinds of aircraft, including the L-20. Gen. Smith got around. I have a patch made for him on his visit to the 4th FBW at Chitose. I'll post it if you're interested, don't want to hijack your thread.

it say's LIAISON on it, with DON (pilots nickname, Donald?), cant read what the wording is on the inner border, the smaller wording. Seeing that the pilot is wearing a shirt and tie under the overalls indicates he's in Class As (stowed his coat and service or garrison cap for the fight, and donns overalls and ball cap) and perhaps is a VIP Hack, and that this flight patch is a special one for VIP Hacks of this unit, the 8th FBW, or maybe he a member of flight unit of a higher organization?, like HQ 5th AF, and that this pilot and his plane are part of this latter unit.

Here ya go Bill, enjoy! 4th FDW, not FBW like I originally said. I guess they wanted to make him feel at home.

Great patch ...thing of beauty... ...I am insanely jealous.
