This is an example to explain the colors that the paratroopers paint on the hull liners, each company of the battalion has its own, this is the 1st battalion Roger de Flor, that has 5 companies.

These covers were used by the marines before the arrival of the woodland, curiously they were not made uniforms, only helmet and backpack covers, These covers were adapted to the Fedur m65 helmet of Spanish manufacture, the helmet pot is slightly smaller than the original M1 and less resistant, the paratroopers did not use it despite the fact that there is erroneous information that if they did, the covers were loose on these helmets and they got dented in testing, they scrapped it and kept using the old M1c's from the early 50's

I'm confused. Are you saying the marines used the M65 or not?

Yes, they used them a lot until the arrival of the Marte Kevlar helmet, they are generally distinguished from the other M-65 by the chinstrap, the closure is shaped like an 8 and plastic chin guard, other models were manufactured for other units such as paratroopers but these they rejected it

I rolled the dice on a $15 Israeli helmet and alleged $28 Vietnam-era US helmet (perhaps more likely Spanish) since I was ordering a part for my 1903 build anyway, the helmets put me in free shipping territory, and I miss the days of buying complete helmets for those prices, so we’ll see what I get. Might have to make a habit of buying gun parts and throwing in a free shipping helmet, we’ll see... will report what I get.

As promised, I’ve placed a few Numrich orders and picked up two $15 Israeli helmets and one of the $28 mystery box helmets. On the first order, I got a seemingly entirely Israeli-made rear seam shell and liner, and then a Spanish paratrooper helmet (I think)?

On the second order, I got another Israeli helmet and hit the front seam jackpot with an Israeli liner. This one looks like it’s seen some time in the desert, has flaking paint, and a bunch of names inside the liner... need to brush up on my Hebrew.

Heat stamp looks to be 101B or D, which would make this a pretty early shell. Wonder what went wrong when they were converting the bales for it to be so burned and have those two holes in it.

Also don’t know what the deal with the disc in the dome is.
