beerdragon54 Posted September 4, 2018 Share #1 Posted September 4, 2018 I picked this up recently and I love the history behind it. All I have researched thus far is his obituary. My first POW tag. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Simon Lerenfort Posted September 4, 2018 Share #2 Posted September 4, 2018 Member of the catapiller club, so he bailed out of an aircraft at some time during his service. He may come up on a MACR form somewhere.
doinworkinvans Posted September 4, 2018 Share #3 Posted September 4, 2018 he is listed in two different MACR's It appears as though there are several page mix ups....there is one page in about a 15 page report that obviously doesnt go there Then he is mentioned in a report for a P-47 but yet several pages later he is mentioned with 6 crew members. There is mention on the German papers that it was a Marauder so B-26 perhaps? I cannot find anything for sure on group or squad

Simon Lerenfort Posted September 25, 2018 Share #7 Posted September 25, 2018 How's that for a Christmas present? Five months in a Stalag. Allan But what pedigree! To say you were in Stalag Luft 3 Sagan-Silesia Bavaria (before being moved to Nuremberg Langwasser. Sad that his memories have passed with him.
