Picked this nice jacket up recently and would love to know if anyone could shed any info on the pilot, W.G. Miete. The patches are neat and the painted skull is pretty cool too. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Jim

Really cool looking jacket! Anyone notice what appears to be words forming the teeth of the painted skull? Can't make it out for sure, but kinda looks like fighting Sr on top and "justice" below that. Any other comments/guesses on wording or am I wrong about those being words of some kind?

The skull stencil design was originally for VA-34 which was redesignated VF-9A in 1946. The “teeth” of the skull spelled Fighting 20 on the original WW2 design but changed to Fighting 9A post war as seen on this jacket. Thanks!

Thanks for the explanation of the teeth spelling.
