roadrunner Posted August 29, 2018 #3 Posted August 29, 2018 I have looked in a motto list It has a "s" at the end, so I'm not sure. FIDELIS ET FORTIS (FAITHFUL AND BRAVE) - 113 INFANTRY
Proud Kraut Posted August 29, 2018 #4 Posted August 29, 2018 Referring to ASMIC's DUI charge list the ID "18th AAA Gun Bn" is correct. Please post the motto of the yellow disk DUI or a close-up.
268th C.A. Posted August 29, 2018 Author #5 Posted August 29, 2018 Thanks guys...on closer inspection there is an "s" on the end of the motto. Looks like is was impacted on the "s" at some point. I could not find history of the 18th in Stanton's order of battle ? Saw something of attached to the 29th through another Artillery Bn. ?
tredhed2 Posted August 29, 2018 #7 Posted August 29, 2018 Stanton's WW 2 OOB only covers many units active during WW 2. Not every unit active during WW 2 eligible for a DI had a DI. Many units w/o DIs during WW 2 had them post war. TDY and unable to verify my resources for the 18th AAA Bn or your 23rd Inf. It is a post WW 2 DI.
268th C.A. Posted August 29, 2018 Author #8 Posted August 29, 2018 Yeah I knew it was P/W I have just never seen that before. Clutch backs, no makers marks ?
