Jennings Lane Posted August 26, 2018 Share #1 Posted August 26, 2018 U.S. Civil War or later? CDV's. Any info? Any information in regard to these CDV's is much appreciated. One is ID'd. It looks to say; James E Place? Major Engineers. Any thoughts or information is much appreciated. Do you think that the two are the same man with a haircut? Note the same recededing hairline, eyebrows. Andy

scottiques Posted August 27, 2018 Share #6 Posted August 27, 2018 Agree-- all are Civil War. Last two men are both field grades (MAJ or higher). Major Place served with the 1st NY Engineers and became a LTC. Revenue tax stamps were in use from 1 AUG 1864 until 31 JUL 1866 Scott
