27Division18 Posted August 19, 2018 Share #1 Posted August 19, 2018 Is this a War of 1812 sword?
SARGE Posted August 20, 2018 Share #2 Posted August 20, 2018 No, not an 1812 sword. This is a circa 1872 sword for Staff & Infantry Officers. It is missing the wire wrapped sharkskin covering to the wooden grip and the guard is a bit smashed in with the clam shell on the front broken off and missing. Swords of this style were worn from the Civil War until 1902.
