Airborne-Hunter Posted August 12, 2018 #1 Posted August 12, 2018 I ran across this one today and I can't figure it out. I went through Capistrano's books, but to no avail. Any thoughts on what this one could be? Thanks ABN
patches Posted August 12, 2018 #2 Posted August 12, 2018 Since it has the Lamp of Knowledge incorporated into it, perhaps an early DI for the School? At the time this shoulder patch was worn?

Airborne-Hunter Posted August 12, 2018 Author #4 Posted August 12, 2018 The 1960s DI is different. Also this piece is framed in sort of a domed frame with WW2 stuff. I haven't opened the frame up, but it appears to be a pin back meyer piece. No name unfortunately

Got to be something associated with this period before the "newer" insiginas came out.

atb Posted August 12, 2018 #8 Posted August 12, 2018 Beautiful. Seems to be a rare one no? I don't think so. I see them fairly often at shows and in collections. I've had 5 or 6.

tredhed2 Posted August 13, 2018 #10 Posted August 13, 2018 Right, by the way, do you know the time period of these were worn, WWII into the 50s or just the 50s? Ca. 1949/later and figure out when the O-1 and G2 HMs appeared.
patches Posted August 13, 2018 #11 Posted August 13, 2018 Ca. 1949/later and figure out when the O-1 and G2 HMs appeared. Would that be Orber and Gemsco. O-1 would be post 1965, the G2 would be post 1954 pre 1965, normally in this 54-65 period the letter comes first like 1K for Krew, 1E for Emblem Supply, 6D Denmark etc etc.
